ART AND HERITAGE PLACE

CLEMENS GARDENS
One garden is devoted is devoted to a beautiful array of hundreds of colorful rose bushes. The other garden is filled with sun-loving annuals and perennials. Features the tallest outdoor fountain in a Minnesota public garden.  The gardens are handicapped accessible with rest room facilities.  Located at Kilian Blvd and 13th St. SE, St. Cloud. 320-255-7238. DOWNTOWN AND COURTHOUSE SQUARE
Fifth Ave. in Downtown St. Cloud has developed the feel of an urban warehouse district with unique shops and charming coffee houses.  The Courthouse Square offers open-air events during the summer, and Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning (in Bremer Bank parking lot).

LINDBERGH HOUSE & HISTORY CENTER
Little Falls is the home of Charles A. Lindbergh, who was the first to fly across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris. Come visit the museum full of artifacts and memorabilia detailing his family history. Take Hwy 10  North to Little Falls. The center is 2 miles SW, follow the signs.  A 25-minute drive from St. Cloud.

MINNESOTA BASEBALL HALL OF FAME MUSEUM
Take yourself out to the Minnesota Baseball Hall of Fame, where great moments in Minnesota baseball are preserved. Open Mon.-Fri. 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.  St. Cloud Civic Center, second floor. 10 Fourth Ave. S.

MINNESOTA FISHING MUSEUM

MUNSINGER GARDENS
Located on the banks of the Mississippi river, this flower park is one of the loveliest in the state. It boasts over 70,000 annual plants and countless perennials to produce a symphony of color. Picnic tables, bench swings, fountains, a wishing well and gazebo are some of the other features. Riverside Dr.  SE and 13th St. S.,  St. Cloud. 800-264-2940.

PARAMOUNT ARTS DISTRICT
The historic Parmount Theatre is host to the performing arts community, arts classes and events. Also located at the District is a regional art gallery and gift shop. 320-259-5463.  Call for group rates.

QUARRY PARK AND NATURE PRESERVE
Quarry Park has been developed on the site of an abandoned granite quarry and covers over 250 acres. The park is a splendid place to swim, take a hike, fish or mountain bike. Located in Waite Park. 320-255-6172. Free of charge.

ST. JOHN’S BENEDICTINE ABBEY
Designed by renowned architect Marcel Breuer, the magnificent Abbey Church is truly one of Central Minnesota’s greatest attractions. Open daily 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.  Located at St. John’s University in Collegeville. Free of charge.

SHERBURNE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
A short trip into the country affords a wonderful nature experience. The refuge contains an interesting balance of marshes, ponds, and lakes along with oak forests and prairies. Wildlife includes ducks, geese, owls and deer. Take hwy 23 east to Hwy 95. Follow 95 east to Milacs County Hwy 7 and turn south. Hwy 7 becomes Sherburne County Hwy 5. Follow signs to refuge. STEARNS COUNTY COURTHOUSE
This historic landmark, with its illuminated clock, was built in 1922. the distinctive dome soars 109 feet above the street. Open Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. 725 Courthouse Square, St. Cloud. www.co.stearns.mn.us. Free of charge.

STEARNS HISTORY MUSEUM
See a 1919 Pan automobile and a miniature circus. Nationally accredited museum has two floors of exhibits. Open Mon-Sat. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sun. 12-4 p.m. 235 S. 3rd Ave., St. Cloud. 320-253-8424. Group rates available. Call for estimate and to schedule.

STEARNS COUNTY HERITAGE CENTER
Located next to the Heritage Center Museum, the Nature Center includes indoor animal exhibits as well as outdoor woodlands, prairie and aquatic habitats. Offers a self-guided nature tour.
